A small plane crash occurred in Boca Raton, Florida, on Friday morning, involving three individuals on board. Local police and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed the incident, which has gained significant attention due to its dramatic circumstances.
The aircraft, identified as a Cessna 310R, took off from Boca Raton Airport with its destination set for Tallahassee International Airport. According to data from Flightradar24, the plane was airborne for less than 20 minutes before the crash occurred.
Dillon Smith, an eyewitness who was at his office during the incident, reported seeing the plane flying extremely low. He described the plane’s trajectory as concerning, stating that it appeared to be on a collision course with a nearby building. "I saw the plane basically turn, come back, and I heard it and saw it go over our building," Smith recounted to West Palm Beach ABC affiliate WPBF.
After losing sight of the aircraft, Smith observed it return, seemingly attempting to head back toward the Boca Raton Airport. "I just saw it drop below the trees and heard a boom," he said, noting that the windows of his office shook from the impact, followed by a visible fireball.
Video footage from the scene reveals what appears to be the wreckage of the small plane resting on railroad tracks adjacent to a road. Fortunately, the fire resulting from the crash has since been extinguished, although specific details regarding the condition of the passengers remain unconfirmed.
