In March, the controversial deportation flights resulted in over 200 individuals, primarily Venezuelans accused of gang affiliations, being sent to prisons in El Salvador. Following reports that the flights had already departed, he issued a verbal order for the planes to return to the US.
The White House has categorically denied any violation of the court's ruling. Karoline Leavitt, the US press secretary, stated, "The administration did not 'refuse to comply' with a court order." She further asserted that the order had no lawful basis, particularly after certain individuals had already been removed from US territory.
