The much-anticipated return of the avenging android is set to grace the silver screen once again! At the recent Marvel Animation and Marvel Television panel during New York Comic Con, Brad Winderbaum unveiled an exciting surprise for fans. He welcomed MCU veteran Paul Bettany, widely recognized as the Vision, to announce the latest Marvel Television series titled VisionQuest.
VisionQuest serves as the final chapter in a trilogy that commenced with the critically acclaimed WandaVision and continued through last year’s Agatha All Along. Enthusiastic fans were treated to an exclusive sneak peek of footage from the upcoming series, which introduced several key cast members. Notable actors include Henry Lewis as D.U.M.-E, Jonathan Sayer as U, James D’Arcy as J.A.R.V.I.S., Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y., and Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H.
Adding to the excitement, James Spader will reprise his iconic role as Ultron, a character he originally portrayed in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. The footage concluded with a captivating shot of Ruaridh Mollica, who appeared in a CC-TV recording identified as Thomas Shepherd, hinting at intriguing plot developments.
During the panel, Paul Bettany provided insights into Vision's character arc in the upcoming series following the events of 2021’s WandaVision. He explained, “What’s different about Vision right now is that Red Vision gave Vision all of his memories, including the memories from within the Hex. But White Vision is having real difficulty connecting to them.” Bettany elaborated, “So he has the memories, but he doesn’t have the emotions and the feelings, and I think that’s what the journey is.”
He further described White Vision’s journey as an exploration of his attempts to connect with his past memories and identity, stating, “...but with lasers!” This intriguing premise sets the stage for a compelling narrative that fans are sure to embrace.
When asked if VisionQuest would experiment with genres like its predecessor, Winderbaum remained coy about the details. “The less we say, the better,” teased the Head of Marvel Television. He did, however, assure fans that the show’s creator, Terry, is well-versed in the Marvel lore. “So if you've been following the MCU all these years, you're going to be very, very, very rewarded,” he added, leaving fans buzzing with anticipation.
Marvel Television’s VisionQuest is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2026, and it promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the Vision's story arc in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Stay tuned as more details about the series unfold, and prepare for an unforgettable journey with the avenging android!
