For the first time, Nintendo Switch 2 games are now available for purchase on Amazon. Over the weekend, the online retail giant quietly added store pages for several highly anticipated titles, including Donkey Kong Bananza and Mario Kart World, marking a significant shift in the availability of Nintendo-published exclusives in the U.S. marketplace.
This recent update signals the end of a prolonged disagreement that had led to Amazon removing all first-party Nintendo games and hardware from its inventory. While Amazon's Nintendo store page remains somewhat outdated, the newly listed games are a welcome sign for fans eager to get their hands on the latest Nintendo titles.
Among the newly listed titles on Amazon are:
Mario Kart World - $80The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - $70The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - $80Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster - $40Donkey Kong Bananza - $70 (Releases July 17)Super Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV - $80 (Releases July 24)Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World - $80 (Releases August 28)These titles include the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 Editions of classic games like The Legend of Zelda series, as well as the Bravely Default remaster, which had previously been absent from Amazon’s listings.
Switch 2 owners can now preorder Donkey Kong Bananza for $70, ahead of its scheduled release on July 17. Additionally, Super Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV and Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World are also available for preorder, ensuring that fans won’t miss out on these exciting new adventures.
While the Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart Bundle is listed, it is currently unavailable for purchase. As of now, there are no first-party accessories for the Switch 2 on Amazon, but updates will be provided if items like the Switch 2 Pro Controller and Switch 2 Camera become available.
In addition to the new Switch 2 games, Amazon is also carrying several recent releases for the original Nintendo Switch, such as:
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition - $57.74 (originally $60)Donkey Kong Country Returns HD - $45 (originally $60)Mario & Luigi: Brothership - $50 (originally $60)It should be noted that Donkey Kong Country Returns HD defaults to a third-party seller with a lower price, specifically Woot, which is an Amazon-owned discount store.
Additionally, a selection of new Legend of Zelda and Street Fighter 6 Amiibo figures are available for preorder on Amazon. These Amiibo were released on June 5, with the June 23 date applying specifically to Amazon. However, some of the listed games are currently marked as temporarily out of stock, indicating that Amazon is still working to fully restock its Nintendo inventory.
Neither Amazon nor Nintendo has publicly commented on the reasons behind the removal of all first-party Nintendo products from Amazon's site. This situation began in early 2024, when Amazon ceased selling Nintendo Switch games altogether, leading to the absence of popular titles, official accessories, and even Switch Online subscriptions. A similar scenario occurred with Walmart, although they managed to resolve their differences before the holiday season.
As the landscape of Nintendo's offerings on Amazon continues to evolve, fans can look forward to more Switch 2 games and accessories being added to the platform in the near future.
