In a series of emotional Instagram Story posts, Gatwa acknowledged the remarkable contributions of his colleagues throughout two unforgettable seasons of the Disney+ and BBC Studios series.
In his posts, Gatwa referred to Millie Gibson, who portrayed Ruby Sunday, and Varada Sethu, known for her role as Belinda Chandra, as the “queens of the sky.” He described working alongside the “legendary” Jodie Whittaker, who made a memorable appearance as the Thirteenth Doctor during the finale, as a “joy and HONOUR.” This recognition underscores the collaborative spirit and camaraderie that define the Doctor Who series.
Gatwa highlighted the “truly special” crew that contributed to the show’s enchanting atmosphere, stating they made the production “look like magic.” His gratitude extended to franchise icons, including Billie Piper, who made a surprise appearance at the end of the Doctor’s latest regeneration, further enriching the Doctor Who legacy.
In addition to his Instagram tributes, BBC Studios released a behind-the-scenes video capturing Gatwa's reflections during his series wrap. In this video, he shares his experiences and emotions while working with the talented cast and crew aboard the TARDIS.
In a separate Instagram post, Gatwa elaborated on his deep appreciation for Gibson and Sethu, stating that their time together was “an experience like no other.” He expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank God we were by each other's side.” His heartfelt message emphasized the significant bond they formed during their journey together, and he noted, “There aren’t quite the words for how much you both mean to me.”
