106 PS4 and PS Vita games are set to be removed from the PlayStation Store in a significant delisting event affecting the Japanese PlayStation Store. While none of the affected titles are specifically designed for the PS5, it's important to note that they remain playable on both the PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles. This mass removal could impact users of these systems, but there is some good news: the games being delisted are not considered major titles, meaning many PlayStation fans might not even notice their absence.
This unprecedented mass delisting is initiated by the Japanese publisher Entergram, which announced that all 106 PS4 and PS Vita games will officially be removed from the store on September 30, 2025. Entergram stated, “We have decided to end sales of the packaged and downloadable versions of the following titles on September 30, 2025. We sincerely apologize to our customers and ask for your understanding.” They also urged customers to purchase these titles as soon as possible if they are interested.
In their statement, Entergram clarified that this delisting does not extend to retail copies of any of their games. Additionally, they assured fans that “user support” will continue, and there are plans to hold a sale on the publisher's games before the titles are removed from the digital storefront. Notably, the games being delisted do not feature online components, which facilitates this significant action.
Among the titles being removed, the vast majority lack future plans for re-release; however, it is worth mentioning that 34 of the games will return under different publishers. It's also important to note that these games are exclusively available on the Japanese PlayStation Store. Players in North America and Europe can still acquire these titles by creating a Japanese PSN account, but they will not be accessible through their regional storefronts.
As of now, there is no clear explanation for this mass delisting from Entergram or from Sony. The gaming community remains curious about the reasons behind such a large-scale removal of titles.
