This week on 'Dancing with the Stars', the competition took a dramatic turn with a brutal double-elimination in just the second week. Big names like Corey Feldman, Danielle Fishel, and Jordan Chiles found themselves in the danger zone after a less-than-stellar performance. Who managed to bounce back, and which two stars were sent packing? Read on for all the thrilling details!
The second night of competition featured the exciting theme of One-Hit Wonders. With no time to spare, the remaining contestants faced the pressure of performing under the spotlight. Celebrities like Corey Feldman, Dylan Efron, Andy Richter, Danielle Fishel, and Jordan Chiles needed to step up their game after struggling in their initial performances, while others like Robert Irwin, Hilaria Baldwin, and Whitney Leavitt sought to maintain their momentum.
Last week's performances set a tough precedent, and the dancers tackled both the samba and quickstep to showcase their skills. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba returned to the panel, and while there were some hiccups during the live broadcast, the scores were accurately tabulated this week—unlike the previous week's error that left Whitney Leavitt in an unexpected tie for first.
Opening the night, Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy performed a lively jive to "Mambo No. 5" by Lou Bega. Although they finished just shy of the final beat, Alix delivered a performance full of character and personality. The judges awarded them scores of 7, 7, and 7, while I would rate them a 6 for their playful energy and sass.
Next up was Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov, who danced a cha-cha-cha to "The Rhythm of the Night" by Corona. Unfortunately, a hamstring injury affected Danielle's performance, causing her to appear hesitant and restrained. The judges scored them 7, 6, and 6, while I felt they deserved a 5 for their cautious execution.
Andy Richter and Emma Slater showcased an emotional tango to "It's Raining Men" by The Weather Girls. Although Andy's charm shone through, the slow pace of the dance limited its elegance. The judges’ scores were 6, 5, and 5, with my score being a 3 for his lack of gliding grace.
Lauren Jauregui and Brandon Armstrong delivered a beautiful foxtrot set to "Lovefool" by The Cardigans. Her performance was filled with elegance and charm, earning her scores of 7, 7, and 7 across the board, which I agree with wholeheartedly.
In a triumphant return, Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa performed a jive to "Maniac" by Michael Sombello. Jordan's athleticism shone through, and the judges rewarded her with scores of 8, 7, and 7, while I would rate her a solid 7 for her impressive stage presence.
As the night progressed, it became clear that Corey Feldman and Andy Richter were in serious danger of elimination due to their lower scores. Despite some improvement from Andy, it was Corey who ultimately faced the consequences of his performances. In a shocking turn of events, both Corey Feldman and Baron Davis were sent home, taking Jenna Johnson and Britt Stewart out of the competition along with them.
With the competition heating up, fans are left wondering who will rise to the top in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more updates on 'Dancing with the Stars' as the journey unfolds!
