In a heartbreaking turn of events, Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a missing teenage girl, was discovered dead in the trunk of a Tesla owned by singer D4vd, also known as David Anthony Burke. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed on Monday that her body had been left undiscovered for several weeks. The grim discovery was made after the car was towed due to parking violations.
Los Angeles Police Department Captain Scot Williams confirmed the timeline of events but refrained from revealing a specific time of death. The Los Angeles County medical examiner is currently working to establish the cause of death for the young girl. Detectives have been diligently tracing Hernandez’s final movements to ascertain any links to D4vd, who has been reported to be cooperating fully with the investigation.
The 2023 Tesla, registered to D4vd, was ticketed by local authorities on a Hollywood Hills street just 11 days prior to the discovery of Hernandez’s body. It had been parked on Bluebird Avenue for an extended period, leading to complaints from nearby residents in August. Captain Williams noted, “I’m not sure exactly when the parking complaints about the Tesla began, but it was closer to the beginning part of August.”
On August 27, a parking enforcement officer marked the Tesla, documenting its position. Subsequently, on September 3, the officer issued a citation for violating the 72-hour parking ordinance. Just two days later, the vehicle was impounded and towed to a local yard.
On the morning of September 8, a tow yard worker noticed a foul odor emanating from the Tesla. Concerned, he alerted detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department. Upon obtaining a search warrant, detectives opened the trunk and made the harrowing discovery of a black bag containing Celeste’s severely decomposed remains. According to the medical examiner, she weighed just 71 pounds and had a distinctive “Shhh” tattoo on her finger. Tragically, her body was found just one day after her 15th birthday.
Celeste hailed from Lake Elsinore, approximately 76 miles away from Hollywood, and was in the seventh grade at the time of her disappearance. Her family had reported her missing multiple times throughout 2024, as confirmed by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance and the timeline leading up to her death are under intense scrutiny.
Earlier this month, D4vd relocated from his rented multimillion-dollar home in the Hollywood Hills. The property was leased under the management of John Marshall, D4vd’s manager. The homeowner, Malden Trifunovic, stated, “Never met or talked to Dave, didn’t even know he was living there. Both me and Mr. Marshall agreed on terminating the lease.” This adds another layer of complexity to the ongoing investigation.
The tragic case of Celeste Rivas Hernandez serves as a somber reminder of the vulnerabilities faced by young individuals. As the investigation continues, the community is left searching for answers and seeking justice for the young girl whose life was cut tragically short.
