A recently unveiled photograph has surfaced, showing New Hampshire businessman and inventor Dean Kamen alongside the infamous sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and English billionaire Richard Branson. The image was included in the latest batch of files published by the Democrats on the House Oversight Committee as part of an ongoing inquiry into Epstein’s connections and activities.
This particular photograph marks the first public instance of Kamen and Epstein appearing together. Kamen, aged 74, has previously been noted in connection with Epstein through a flight log, but he has not faced any accusations of wrongdoing in relation to his interactions with Epstein. The context of the photograph remains unclear, including the frequency of their travels together and their last known communication.
The undated image shows Epstein, Kamen, and Branson—who is well-known as the British entrepreneur behind Virgin Atlantic and other ventures—on what seems to be a beach. This lack of context adds to the intrigue surrounding Kamen’s association with Epstein. NHPR reached out to Kamen via email on Friday morning for comment through two associates, but no immediate response was received.
Kamen's name has emerged in a 2003 flight log associated with Epstein's private jet, detailing a trip from John F. Kennedy Airport in New York to Monterey, California. It is worth noting that Kamen is an enthusiastic pilot himself and has occasionally commuted from his home in Bedford to his offices in Manchester using a personal helicopter.
After achieving success in designing medical devices, Kamen gained celebrity status in 2001 when he introduced the Segway personal transportation device on national television. Additionally, Kamen served on NHPR’s Board of Trustees from 1987 to 1992, further establishing his presence in New Hampshire.
Jeffrey Epstein, who died in 2019 while awaiting trial for numerous criminal charges related to child sex trafficking and abuse, left behind a controversial legacy. His longtime accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022 for her role in the trafficking operation. Notably, before her arrest, Maxwell resided in a secluded home in Bradford, New Hampshire. The circumstances surrounding her move to New Hampshire and any potential relationship with Kamen remain unclear.
Epstein’s connections with high-profile figures, including former President Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and Bill Gates, have sparked significant controversy in Washington. A bipartisan coalition of lawmakers is actively advocating for the release of records related to Epstein. Recently, Trump signed a measure directing the Justice Department to release additional materials tied to its investigations into Epstein, following the approval of the Epstein Files Transparency Act. The contents of these forthcoming files, expected to be released in part next week, remain uncertain.
