In an exciting development for smartphone enthusiasts, Xiaomi has officially announced the launch of its flagship devices, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and the Xiaomi 15, in the UK and Europe. This announcement comes just days after the phones were unveiled in China, showcasing Xiaomi's commitment to expanding its global presence.
The Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra are now available for pre-order, with the Ultra starting at £1,299 / €1,499 (approximately $1,600) and the base model priced at £899 / €999 (around $1,100). Both models feature advanced technology, including the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, large batteries, and support for fast wired and wireless charging, along with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
One of the standout features of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is its superior camera system. While both the Xiaomi 15 and Ultra boast a similar configuration of 50-megapixel main, telephoto, and ultrawide cameras, the Ultra differentiates itself with unique sensors on each lens, promising enhanced photographic capabilities. Additionally, the Ultra is equipped with a remarkable 200-megapixel, 4.3x periscope lens, which significantly contributes to the impressive camera module design on the device's rear.
To further enhance the photography experience, Xiaomi is offering a Photography Kit as an add-on for £179 (around $225). This kit includes a functional camera grip accessory featuring a shutter button, zoom lever, and exposure dial, making it an ideal choice for photography enthusiasts.
Alongside the smartphones, Xiaomi has also launched two new tablets: the Xiaomi Pad 7 and Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro. Both tablets come with 11.2-inch displays featuring a stunning 3.2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The Pro version is powered by the faster Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, while the standard Pad 7 includes the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3. The tablets are competitively priced at £369 / €399 (about $465) for the Pad 7 and £449 / €499 ($565) for the Pad 7 Pro. Additionally, the Pro model offers a “Matte Glass” option that reduces screen glare, priced at £549 / €649 ($690).
Xiaomi is also introducing the Buds 5 Pro, which will be available in both Bluetooth and a Wi-Fi version designed for optimal audio quality when paired with compatible Xiaomi phones, currently limited to the 15 and 15 Ultra. Furthermore, the company has launched two new wearables: the Smart Band 9 Pro, featuring enhanced health tracking capabilities, and the Watch S4, a smartwatch that brings back the customizable bezels first seen in last year's Watch S3.
The launch of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, Xiaomi 15, and accompanying devices marks an important milestone for Xiaomi in the UK and European markets. With cutting-edge technology, impressive camera systems, and a range of accessories, these products are poised to attract a diverse array of consumers.
