WiiM has officially announced the launch of three cutting-edge wireless audiophile devices, including their first smart speaker, the WiiM Sound. This new smart speaker showcases a design that draws inspiration from the sleek aesthetics of the Apple HomePod, blending style with functionality.
The WiiM Sound is not just a pretty face; it comes equipped with advanced features to enhance your listening experience. It boasts playback controls located conveniently on the top, alongside a 1.8-inch high-resolution touchscreen on the side. This touchscreen can be utilized for navigating playlists and menus, selecting presets, or simply displaying album art of the track currently being played.
Under the hood, the WiiM Sound is powered by a robust four-inch woofer and “dual-balanced mode radiator tweeters,” delivering an impressive output of 100W of power or more when configured as a left and right stereo pair. One standout feature is the built-in microphone, which measures the acoustics in your room and optimizes the speaker's sound output accordingly. For further customization, users can utilize a 10-band EQ or choose from 24 different preset sound profiles.
Connectivity options are abundant with the WiiM Sound, featuring Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and an ethernet port. This allows the speaker to stream from over 20 different music services, or from apps on other devices using Chromecast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, DLNA, or Alexa Cast. For hands-free operation, users can rely on Alexa, Google Assistant, or an included wireless remote that supports voice commands.
WiiM anticipates that the Sound will be available in the third quarter of 2025 through Amazon and select retailers, though pricing details remain undisclosed until the official launch.
If the WiiM Sound doesn’t provide sufficient low-end performance, users can enhance their audio setup with the new Sub Pro. This powerful subwoofer features an eight-inch driver and a Class-D amplifier, operating effectively in the 25-200Hz frequency range. The Sub Pro's connectivity options mirror those of the Sound, including Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, ethernet, and an RCA input for integration with home theater systems.
Similar to the WiiM Sound, the Sub Pro offers advanced customization options, including automatic room correction and a 10-band EQ that can be controlled via the WiiM mobile app.
WiiM describes the WiiM Amp Ultra as its “most refined streaming amplifier yet.” Encased in a unibody aluminum chassis and featuring a 3.5-inch touchscreen on the front, the amplifier incorporates audiophile-grade components, including an ESS ES9039Q2M Sabre DAC. It can deliver 100W of power per channel, capable of driving up to four passive speakers simultaneously.
With dual antennas, the WiiM Amp Ultra ensures fast and stable streaming over both Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, even while playing high-resolution music at 24-bit/192kHz quality. The WiiM Home app allows users to stream from popular services such as Spotify and Amazon Music, while support for Google Cast, Alexa Cast, DLNA, and Roon further enhances its versatility.
Voice controls are seamlessly integrated through Alexa and Google Assistant, and the amplifier includes an HDMI ARC port with Dolby Digital decoding support. Additionally, it features a dedicated subwoofer output, making it easy to pair with the new Sub Pro for a truly immersive audio experience.
WiiM's new lineup, featuring the WiiM Sound, Sub Pro, and WiiM Amp Ultra, is poised to redefine the wireless audiophile experience. With their stylish designs, advanced technology, and comprehensive streaming capabilities, these devices cater to the needs of music enthusiasts looking for high-quality sound and user-friendly operation.
