This morning, we noticed that Verizon had released information regarding the July Pixel update, even before Google made any official announcements. As expected, Google is likely to roll out this update next week, around July 8, coinciding with the release of the Pixel 6a’s battery performance fix.
We held onto this information for several hours, anticipating that Google might release the update before the holiday weekend. However, as of now, that has not occurred, so we’re ready to share what we know about the early July Pixel update from Verizon.
Verizon has posted comprehensive details for the July Pixel update, which applies to all supported Pixel phones. According to their announcement, the build number is BP2A.250705.008, indicating that it should have been available since July 2. However, it appears that this update has not yet been released, and perplexingly, it retains the June security patch level.
This discrepancy raises some questions about the accuracy of Verizon's timing and details. However, the update does include two notable improvements:
Display & Graphics: Enhancements for smoother visual experiences in apps, particularly in Android Auto. Wi-Fi: Improvements in Wi-Fi connectivity stability and performance under specific conditions. These enhancements aim to provide a better user experience, particularly for those utilizing Android Auto in their vehicles. As for the Wi-Fi improvements, users can expect a more stable connection in various environments.
For now, we await further confirmation from Google regarding the official release of the July Pixel update. Users are encouraged to periodically check for the update, although it appears it may not be available just yet. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available!
