As anticipation builds for Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, scheduled for tomorrow, the tech community is buzzing with new leaks that shed light on the company’s upcoming devices. Renowned leaker Roland Quandt has shared a wealth of marketing materials on Bluesky, hinting at significant changes, particularly regarding the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
According to the latest leaks, Samsung appears to be phasing out support for the S Pen on the slimmer iteration of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This development follows a previous leak that disclosed the specifications for both the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7, including the new Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Marketing materials indicate that the Z Fold 7 boasts an impressively slim profile, measuring just 4.2mm when unfolded and weighing in at 215 grams, described as “less than a large bar of chocolate.”
In comparison, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is noted to measure 6.5mm when unfolded, which the marketing materials liken to “about the width of a pencil.” Notably, none of the promotional content mentions the S Pen for the Z Fold 7, a departure from previous models where users could purchase the S Pen Fold Edition separately and store it in a dedicated case.
The leaks also provide insights into the upcoming Galaxy Watch 8, Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, and Galaxy Watch Ultra. The new Watch Ultra is expected to feature an upgraded storage capacity of 64GB, doubling that of its predecessor. It will maintain many popular features found in the previous model, including a vibrant 1.5-inch AMOLED display, impressive battery life of up to 100 hours in power-saving mode, a safety siren, and dual-frequency GPS for enhanced location tracking.
The Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic will adopt the same round display shape and squircle design as the Watch Ultra. According to the leaked materials, the Watch 8 may sport an impressive brightness of 3,000 nits and a profile that is 11 percent thinner than its predecessor. Meanwhile, the Watch 8 Classic is rumored to come equipped with a higher 64GB of storage and a more robust 445mAh battery, a significant upgrade from the 16GB storage and 425mAh battery found in the Watch 6 Classic.
Interestingly, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic will reportedly be available in just one size, measuring 1.3 inches, and will feature a silver rotating bezel along with watch faces in classic black or white.
