Samsung's Upcoming Foldable Phones: Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Z Flip 7 FE Details Leaked

With just two days remaining until the highly anticipated launch, fresh details have emerged regarding Samsung's next-generation foldable phones: the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and the new Z Flip 7 FE. This latest leak, sourced from WinFuture's reliable tech insider, Roland Quandt, reveals crucial information about the screens, storage options, batteries, and other core specifications of these devices. The official unveiling is set for the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on Wednesday, July 9th.

Galaxy Z Fold 7: Thinner and Lighter

One of the standout features of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is its significantly reduced thickness compared to its predecessors. Quandt cites official Samsung marketing materials stating that the phone will measure just 4.2mm when unfolded and 8.9mm when folded. This design will position it as one of the thinnest foldable smartphones currently available, measuring similarly to the Oppo Find N5 and only slightly thicker than Honor’s Magic V5. At a weight of 216 grams, it will be the lightest book-style foldable phone on the market.

Despite the reduction in weight, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 boasts larger screens than the previous model, featuring a 6.5-inch display on the outside and an 8-inch screen on the inside. It will maintain the same battery capacity of 4,400mAh, ensuring excellent performance without compromising on power. The device will be powered by the advanced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and will offer storage options of either 256GB or 512GB. There are rumors of a 1TB version, similar to what was available for the Galaxy Z Fold 6, depending on the region.

In terms of photography, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will feature a remarkable 200-megapixel main camera. The device is expected to launch in a variety of colors, including blue, black, and silver, appealing to a broad spectrum of users.

Z Flip 7: Enhanced Features and Design

Equally exciting is the Z Flip 7, which is rumored to come with a significantly larger 4.1-inch cover screen. This cover will wrap around the dual camera lenses, reminiscent of Motorola’s recent Razr flip phones. Quandt shared images showing this innovative design, which has generated buzz since its appearance in alleged hands-on videos and renders earlier this year.

Notably, the Z Flip 7 is expected to be thinner than its predecessors while housing a robust 4,300mAh battery—only slightly smaller than the Fold 7’s battery. Storage configurations and color options will mirror those of the Fold 7, although the Flip 7 will feature a slightly lower 50-megapixel main camera.

Z Flip 7 FE: A Budget-Friendly Option

Additionally, Quandt has provided insights into the much-anticipated Z Flip 7 FE, which aims to offer a more budget-friendly option within the flip phone category. This model is expected to come with reduced storage options of 128GB and 256GB, along with a smaller 4,000mAh battery. Maintaining the same screen sizes as the standard Flip 7, it appears set to adopt the wrap-around cover display design, despite earlier reports suggesting a return to the Flip 6’s design. The Z Flip 7 FE is anticipated to launch exclusively in black and white variants.

Galaxy Watch 8 Series Leaked Alongside New Phones

In addition to the foldable phones, Quandt also shared what seem to be official marketing images for the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic, which appear to embrace the squircle body design first introduced with the Galaxy Watch Ultra. However, there has been no mention of the rumored Samsung trifold device, which may be teased at the event but is unlikely to be fully revealed at this time.

As we approach the launch, anticipation continues to build around Samsung's innovative foldable phone lineup and smartwatch offerings. Stay tuned for more updates as the Galaxy Unpacked event unfolds!
