Samsung has officially launched the highly anticipated Galaxy Tab S11, introducing a range of updated specifications, the return of the popular 11-inch size, and significant enhancements to the S Pen. For those familiar with previous generations, the Galaxy Tab S11 series will evoke a sense of familiarity, while also bringing fresh features to the table.
This year, Samsung continues its tradition with the introduction of the massive 14.6-inch Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, alongside the much-missed 11-inch variant of the Galaxy Tab S11 that was absent from last year's collection. Notably, Samsung has decided not to include a 12.4-inch “Plus” model in this lineup, simplifying choices for consumers.
Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra are equipped with the robust MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor, ensuring top-notch performance for multitasking and demanding applications. The tablets boast either 12GB of RAM or an impressive 16GB of RAM in the high-end 1TB Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. Users can enjoy rapid 45W charging, along with quad-speaker systems for an immersive audio experience.
The Galaxy Tab S11 features an 8,400 mAh battery, while the Ultra version packs an even larger 11,600 mAh battery. Both tablets are incredibly thin, measuring just 5mm for the Tab S11 and 5.6mm for the Ultra, making them sleek and portable. They come pre-installed with One UI 8, offering a user-friendly interface.
One of the most notable changes in the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is the redesigned display, which now features a smaller notch after the removal of one of its two selfie cameras. The tablet now sports a single 12MP front-facing camera, aligning it with the specifications of the smaller Galaxy Tab S11.
Perhaps the biggest surprise comes with the changes to the S Pen. Following the trend set by the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Samsung has eliminated Bluetooth support for the S Pen in the Galaxy Tab S11. While the S Pen remains included, its functionality is now limited to direct interactions with the display, which means the removal of certain air gestures and the capability to use it as a remote for the camera. Despite this change, Samsung noted that this feature was underutilized by users, making the adjustment a reasonable decision.
In a welcomed improvement, the S Pen now mounts to the side of the tablet, similar to the Apple Pencil on iPads. This shift eliminates the previous clunky magnetic dock that was often criticized, enhancing the overall user experience. Importantly, the new S Pen does not require charging, providing a hassle-free solution for users.
The Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra are available starting today, with prices beginning at $799 and $1,199, respectively. With these new tablets, Samsung continues to push the boundaries of technology and design.
