On Wednesday, Google unveiled an exciting new AI image feature for its Shopping tab, aimed at revolutionizing the way users discover clothing items. This feature enables shoppers to find the apparel they envision simply by describing it in their own words. In addition, the tech giant is also expanding its AR beauty and virtual try-on tools, enhancing the overall shopping experience for users.
The newly launched feature, dubbed “Vision Match,” is currently available to mobile users in the U.S. This innovative tool allows shoppers to articulate their clothing ideas, and in response, the AI generates suggestions based on their descriptions. Users will receive curated recommendations alongside the best available items for purchase. To explore this feature, simply type a clothing idea into the search bar and look for the “Can’t find it? Create it” prompt. Alternatively, you can navigate to the left panel in the Shopping tab and select “Create & Shop.”
In conjunction with the launch of Vision Match, Google has announced an expansion of its AR beauty capabilities. Users can now experiment with multiple makeup products simultaneously, providing a more comprehensive shopping experience. Starting this week, U.S. users can try on and shop for a variety of products, including lipsticks, mascaras, eyeshadows, and eyeliners from popular brands like E.L.F., Fenty, Glossier, and others. To utilize the AR beauty feature, mobile users can search for trendy looks such as “soft glam,” select “See the looks on you,” and then click “Try it on” to virtually apply neutral eyeshadows, rosy blush, lip gloss, and more.
Google is also broadening its virtual try-on experience, originally introduced in 2023, which allows shoppers to visualize how garments appear on different models. This upgrade enables users to see how pants and skirts from hundreds of brands look on real-life models who wear sizes ranging from XXS to XXL. This feature enhances the online shopping experience, making it easier for customers to choose clothing that fits them well.
