Following this colorful display, the lights return to their standard white, providing a clear visual cue for users.
This colorful light display is particularly noticeable depending on the color of the speaker. For example, with the Chalk and Charcoal variants, the new lighting is much easier to distinguish. However, users of the Coral variant may find that the initial color sequence blends in more with the device. This update is part of Google's ongoing efforts to enhance the functionality and aesthetic appeal of their smart home devices.
The latest iteration of this update is found in the Preview Program firmware version 3.77.500695 for both the Nest Mini and Nest Audio. This release is also compatible with other devices like the Google Home and Home Mini. For those eager to experience these new features, joining the Preview Program is simple. Just navigate to the device settings in the Google Home app, select Device Information, and then choose Preview Program.
