Google is taking significant steps forward in enhancing the user experience with its new AI Mode. Following the introduction of floating controls on Android, the latest updates are now accessible on Chrome, further expanding the functionality of this innovative feature. The AI Mode shortcut was officially rolled out last month for both Android and iOS users, providing a seamless way to access AI-driven search capabilities.
Users can easily find the new AI Mode by visiting google.com/aimode, where it is conveniently located beneath the search bar on the New Tab Page. This feature introduces a pill-shaped button that enhances the overall search interface by making the search bar slightly taller. Accompanying this button is another for the Incognito mode, both equipped with distinct icons for easy identification.
This rollout follows the earlier introduction of the AI Mode shortcut on desktop browsers, with a recent addition to the Omnibox feature. As of today, this enhancement is now available for Android and iOS users in the United States, with plans to extend its reach to 160 new countries and support for various languages, including Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese.
In addition to the new shortcut features, Google has also expanded the AI Mode capabilities to include advanced agentic booking functionalities. Initially announced in August, users can now make restaurant reservations using specific criteria such as party size, date, time, location, and preferred cuisine. Utilizing the advanced web browsing capabilities of Project Mariner, AI Mode efficiently finds matches for your requests.
Moreover, as promised, users can now leverage AI Mode not only for dining reservations but also for booking event tickets and scheduling beauty and wellness appointments. This expansion underscores Google's commitment to providing a more intuitive and user-friendly search experience.
As these features continue to roll out, users can anticipate an increasingly agentic and responsive interaction with Google's AI Mode, making everyday tasks easier and more efficient.
