Meanwhile, Intel has teased its upcoming Panther Lake series of processors, along with some of the first devices equipped with this cutting-edge technology.
But it’s not just laptops and desktops that are capturing attention at Computex 2025. The exhibition floor also features innovative gaming handhelds, a unique split keyboard from Asus, and a competitively priced smart ring from Acer, aimed at making smart wearable technology more accessible.
During Nvidia's keynote presentation, CEO Jensen Huang shared exciting news, including the company's new headquarters in Taipei's Beitou Shilin Science Park. However, the highlight for consumers was undoubtedly the announcement of the GeForce RTX 5060, a competitively priced GPU built on Nvidia's Blackwell architecture. This new GPU is expected to deliver remarkable performance for gamers and content creators alike.
Among the first laptops to feature the RTX 5060 is Asus' TUF A18, the first 18-inch model from the brand's durable gaming lineup. This laptop pairs the new GPU with an AMD Ryzen 7 260 processor, offering a competitive starting price of $1,599. It boasts a vibrant 2.5K, 240 Hz display and a user-upgradable dual PCIe 4.0 SSD, making it one of the most affordable options in the 18-inch gaming laptop market.
On the premium end, the Razer Blade 14 makes a striking impression as the thinnest and lightest model in the series, measuring just 0.62 inches. This sleek device is equipped with Nvidia's latest GPU, an AMD Ryzen 9 AI 365, and a stunning 3K OLED display. Although it wasn't physically present at Computex, its announcement coincided with Nvidia's keynote, with prices starting at $2,699.
Asus has introduced an intriguing addition to the realm of gaming peripherals with the ROG Falcata keyboard. This wireless device features a unique split design that emphasizes the essential WASD keys, allowing gamers to eliminate the right side of the keyboard when not needed. The Falcata is equipped with magnetic switches, promising a satisfying and responsive typing experience, and boasts a lifespan of up to 100 million key presses.
While the connector cable joining the two halves may seem somewhat cumbersome, it’s a necessary design choice to avoid the need for a second Bluetooth connection. The Asus ROG Falcata is set to launch in summer 2025, though pricing details have yet to be revealed.
Acer is making waves in the smart wearable market with its new FreeSense smart ring, designed to be budget-friendly and subscription-free. Priced around $199, this titanium smart ring is available in seven sizes and two colors: black and rose gold. It offers essential health metrics, including heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and sleep quality, all without the extra costs typically associated with similar devices.
While premium options like the Oura Ring 4 and Ultrahuman Ring Air will always have their market, Acer’s smart ring addresses the demand for more affordable devices in the $200 range. Enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to test Acer's FreeSense ring when it debuts in summer 2025.
MSI has been at the forefront of gaming handhelds, previously showcasing the Claw 8 AI+ at CES, which was praised for its impressive battery life and 8-inch, 120 Hz display. At Computex, MSI introduced the next generation, the Claw A8, powered by an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor. This handheld features an 80 Wh battery and can support up to 24 GB of memory, slightly less than its predecessor.
Additionally, the new Zotac Zone handheld is making waves, boasting a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor and up to 32 GB of memory on a 7-inch, 120 Hz AMOLED display. This device uniquely runs on Linux and includes dual trackpads beneath the joysticks, a built-in front-facing camera, and a mic for seamless streaming and communication.
In response to increasing competition, Intel has unveiled its next generation of processors, dubbed Panther Lake. This series aims to build on the power efficiency of its predecessor, the Lunar Lake processors. Intel showcased its new chips at Computex, highlighting their potential for improved performance and efficiency, with consumer devices expected to debut in early 2026.
