Today, Attorney General Pamela Bondi, in collaboration with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), has made a significant move towards transparency by declassifying and publicly releasing files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. These documents shed light on Epstein's heinous acts of sexual exploitation involving over 250 underage girls at various locations, including his residences in New York and Florida.
The first phase of these declassified files primarily consists of documents that have previously been leaked but had never been formally released by the U.S. Government. Attorney General Bondi stated, “This Department of Justice is following through on President Trump’s commitment to transparency and lifting the veil on the disgusting actions of Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators.” She emphasized that the initial release of files aims to provide the public with much-needed accountability regarding Epstein's extensive network of exploitation.
FBI Director Kash Patel echoed Bondi's sentiments, declaring, “The FBI is entering a new era—one that will be defined by integrity, accountability, and the unwavering pursuit of justice.” He assured the public that there would be “no cover-ups, no missing documents, and no stone left unturned.” Patel committed to investigating any gaps in the records and ensuring that all findings are brought to the Department of Justice for a thorough assessment and transparent dissemination to the American people.
Attorney General Bondi has formally requested the full and complete files related to Jeffrey Epstein. Initially, the Department received around 200 pages of documents. However, it was later revealed that there are thousands more related to Epstein’s investigation and indictment that had not been disclosed earlier. To address this, Bondi has mandated that the FBI deliver the remaining documents by 8:00 AM on February 28. She has also tasked Director Patel with investigating the oversight regarding the initial request for all documents.
The Department of Justice remains firmly committed to transparency throughout this process. They intend to release the remaining documents after a thorough review and necessary redactions to protect the identities of Epstein’s victims.
