In addition to the voter ID requirement, Trump stated, “Also, No Mail-In Voting, Except For Those That Are Very Ill, And The Far Away Military.” This statement highlights his ongoing efforts to reform the electoral system in the United States, which he claims has been compromised by fraudulent activities. These claims stem from his belief that his 2020 electoral defeat to Democratic President Joe Biden was influenced by widespread voter fraud, a notion that has been widely discredited.
Trump and his Republican allies have persistently propagated unsubstantiated allegations regarding widespread voting by non-citizens, an act that is illegal and statistically rare. For years, Trump has advocated for the elimination of electronic voting machines, promoting instead the use of paper ballots and manual counts.
