On Saturday, May 17, Louisiana State Police (LSP) released photographs of three inmates who escaped from the Orleans Parish jail and were captured. The escapees, identified as Kendell Myles, Robert Moody, and Dkenan Dennis, were apprehended shortly after their escape from the Orleans Justice Center complex early Friday morning.
The LSP did not disclose the specific location where the recaptured inmates were being transported. However, they confirmed that their air support and SWAT divisions worked together to ensure a secure transfer of the three individuals to a state correctional facility situated outside the area. A source informed Fox 8 that the inmates were likely being taken to the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola.
During the transfer process, one of the inmates—whose identity has yet to be revealed—exhibited hostile behavior. This prompted the troopers to implement safety measures, including the use of a spit hood. This precaution was necessary to ensure the safety of both the staff and the inmates during the transport.
The Louisiana State Police confirmed that the search is ongoing for the other seven escapees who are still at large. They are urging the public to provide any information regarding the whereabouts of these individuals. Tips can be submitted to Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111, the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI, or by dialing 911.
