This past Sunday night, Vogue World transformed the iconic Paramount Studios lot in Los Angeles into a stunning fashion showcase. The event, titled Vogue World: Hollywood 2025, brought together an impressive array of designer looks influenced by some of Hollywood’s most renowned costume designers. Esteemed fashion houses including McQueen, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, ALAÏA, Marc Jacobs, Valentino, and Balmain collaborated with celebrated costume designers such as Colleen Atwood, Milena Canonero, Ruth E. Carter, Catherine Martin, Arianne Phillips, Sandy Powell, Jacqueline West, and Shirley Kurata for this spectacular runway show.
The fashion show was not just an exhibition of style; it was a pseudo film shoot directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Baz Luhrmann. The event kicked off with Nicole Kidman commanding the runway in a sleek black gown, setting the tone for an evening filled with glamour and excitement. The 30-minute spectacle featured a lineup of celebrity models including Ayo Edebiri, Greta Lee, Jeff Goldblum, Sombr, Julia Garner, Jeremy Pope, and Tyriq Withers.
As the show came to a close, the audience was treated to a memorable moment when Angela Bassett reprised her iconic role as Queen Ramonda from the Black Panther franchise, wearing a stunning gown from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The emotional impact of the evening was palpable, with attendees expressing their awe at the creativity and artistry displayed on the runway. “That was too much beauty in one blip of time,” remarked Hilary Duff. “I couldn’t get over how much fun it was. I was embarrassed taking so many photos and videos. It was gorgeous and light and fun. I was like, ‘I wanna get up there and walk!’”
The event also featured electrifying performances by Gracie Abrams and Doja Cat, entertaining a star-studded guest list that included celebrities like Miley Cyrus, Cynthia Erivo, Hailey Bieber, Tracee Ellis Ross, Lizzo, Henry Golding, MGK, Demi Lovato, Kathryn Hahn, Viola Davis, Taraji P. Henson, Taika Waititi, Rita Ora, Olivia Munn, Camila Cabello, Jennifer Hudson, Camila Mendes, Chloe Fineman, Mandy Moore, and Juliette Lewis.
Following the show, attendees like Benito Skinner and Rachel Sennott radiated excitement as they reflected on the evening's electrifying atmosphere. “It was electrifying. I loved it. I was right there with Gracie Abrams,” Skinner shared. Sennott added her enthusiasm, saying she “freaked” when she saw Edebiri walking the runway. “I screamed, but I was afraid to yell and distract,” she confessed. “Then I started yelling for each person and was like, ‘Someone will tell me if I have to be quiet.’”
Proceeds from ticket sales for Vogue World were directed to the Entertainment Community Fund, focusing on aiding costume community professionals affected by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. This philanthropic effort highlights the fashion industry's commitment to supporting those in need while celebrating creativity and artistry.
