Peter Pan has finally made his grand entrance into Disney Dreamlight Valley with the latest update, the Mysteries of Skull Rock. This exciting addition brings a wave of childlike wonder to the game, but unlocking this beloved character is no small feat. Peter Pan resides within the enigmatic Skull Rock, a location shrouded in mystery for years. After completing the main quest, players noticed a shift near Dazzle Beach, hinting at hidden adventures. Now, with the Mysteries of Skull Rock update, players can finally unveil what lies inside. If you’re eager to unlock Peter Pan, here’s a comprehensive guide on how to do it.
Once you finish the Mysteries of Skull Rock update, the first step to unlocking Peter Pan is to wait for the A Forgotten Name quest to trigger. Players may need to exercise some patience, as it took us approximately 45 minutes for the quest to appear. When it does, you’ll receive instructions to speak with The Forgotten, who has discovered a mysterious feather near Skull Rock. Together, you will embark on an investigation. Head over to Skull Rock and converse with The Forgotten. You’ll share nostalgic memories of your childhood before they request a real name from you. You can choose from the available options or create a custom name. Once named, The Forgotten becomes an official villager in your Valley, paving the way for the next quest.
The next quest, Shadows On The Wall, requires you to venture into Skull Rock alongside The Forgotten. Take a moment to admire the beautiful pirate ship in the new area. You’ll receive a prompt to explore Skull Rock, which is a subtle hint to search for treasure chests, hidden items, and gems. After you’ve had your fill of exploration, return to The Forgotten to discuss your findings. They’ll mention a few Pixie Dust Orbs that need to be activated by locating three broken lanterns. The first lantern is situated near The Forgotten’s location by the winches. Dig up the sparkling mound to retrieve it. The other two lanterns can be fished up from either side of the dock using your Fishing Rod.
Once you have all three broken lanterns, you’ll need the following materials to repair them:
3 Broken Lanterns from Skull Rock 3 Gold Ingots 9 Glass 9 Vitalys CrystalsThe broken lanterns can be found in Skull Rock, while the Gold Ingots can be mined from nodes in the Sunlit Plateau, Frosted Heights, and Forgotten Lands—requiring 15 Gold Nuggets and three Coal for crafting. For the Glass, you’ll need to collect 45 Sand from Dazzle Beach and 18 Coal for crafting nine Glass items. Finally, mine Vitalys Crystals from the Vitalys Mine in the Sunlit Plateau.
Next up, you’ll need to catch three Pixie Dust Orbs located in:
Glade of Trust near Gothel’s house Forest of Valor on the bridge Forgotten Lands by the pond in the top left cornerAfter collecting the orbs, head to a crafting table and create the three Pixie Dust Lanterns. Return to Skull Rock and place the lanterns on the winches located near The Forgotten. Once placed, you’ll need to align the winches in order to catch the Shadow. Aim them at the longer wall on the right side while facing The Forgotten. With the lights in position, the Shadow will become visible, and you’ll need to interact with it to continue.
After encountering the Shadow, interact with three Jade Skulls and solve their riddles:
“I’m used to exploring the waters and shores, a swaying home amid the sea-foam. What am I?” - Answer: A pirate ship. “I’m a winged creature, small and bright, with magic dust to grant you flight. Don’t be fooled; I’ve courage twice my size. Dare to doubt; that’s just unwise. What am I?” - Answer: A Pixie. “I’m an instrument of wind, and for him I’ll always play as he laughs and grins to lead the way. What am I?” - Answer: A pan flute.After solving these riddles, you’ll be able to turn the winch and progress to the next quest.
Follow the Shadow and The Forgotten through a gate and speak with The Forgotten again. You’ll need to search for another winch hidden in a rock next to a barrel on your right. Use your pickaxe to break the rock, revealing a Pixie Dust Orb and the winch. Follow the Pixie Dust Orb around Skull Rock, collecting the Pixie Dust it drops. Use your pickaxe on any large rocks you encounter along the way.
Once you’ve collected all six Pixie Dust items and the Pixie Dust Orb, interact with the large pirate ship located in the center of Skull Rock. Add the six Pixie Dust to make the ship fly, then walk across the ship to speak with The Forgotten again. They will inform you about a mysterious barrel puzzle that needs solving. Match the symbols on the barrels, which include:
Hook + Clock (Captain Hook) Sewing Needle + Shadow (Peter Pan) Pixie + Bell (Tinkerbell)Once the puzzle is completed, you’ll receive the Captain’s key from the barrel behind The Forgotten. Use this key to access the Captain’s Cabin on the lower deck of the ship, where you’ll find another winch. Take this winch back to the spot where you found the key and place it in the designated slot to complete the current quest.
For the last quest needed to unlock Peter Pan, follow The Forgotten and the Shadow to the next area in Skull Rock. You’ll encounter a series of musical notes and a book. After speaking with The Forgotten, a Glowing Musical Note will escape. Chase after it and interact to capture the note. If you lose track, follow the path to the left after conversing with The Forgotten.
Once you’ve captured the note, retrieve the silver key located just to the left of The Forgotten. Return to the Captain’s Cabin and unlock the chest inside to find another memory in the form of a treasure map leading to Ariel’s Island. Speak with The Forgotten for clues about the missing Glowing Musical Notes, which can be found in:
With the Jade Skulls in Skull Rock. Answering the riddle with Pixie Dust. In the treehouse in the Forgotten Lands. In Olaf’s cave in the Frosted Heights. In Ursula’s cave on Dazzle Beach. In the Dream Castle on the second floor.To find the buried treasure, take the boat from Skull Rock to Ariel’s Island and dig up the treasure to complete that task. Once you’ve collected all the musical notes, return to The Forgotten. Interact with the buttons to align the notes with those in the book.
The Shadow will try to disrupt your efforts, so craft one more lantern at the crafting table and place it on the winch to trap the Shadow. After securing the Shadow, move the notes back to their original positions. This will summon Peter Pan, who will be cautious about your presence as an adult. He’ll challenge you to a game of hide-and-seek.
To find Peter Pan, look in dark, shadowy spots around the game. Following the Pixie Dust trail or asking villagers for hints can be helpful. However, if you want a direct approach, Peter can be found on the top floor of the Dark Castle. Enter the portal in the Plaza, ascend as high as possible, and you’ll eventually encounter Peter Pan amidst the Pixie Dust.
After you locate him, Peter Pan will agree to join your Valley. Build his home for 20,000 Star Coins, and you’ll officially have Peter Pan as a resident in your Disney Dreamlight Valley.
