The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified Celeste Rivas on Wednesday, stating that she was originally from Lake Elsinore in Riverside County. Rivas had been reported missing last year and had not been heard from since, according to investigators from Los Angeles ABC station KABC.
Investigators are still trying to determine the circumstances surrounding Rivas's death and how her body ended up in the front trunk of the Tesla. The cause of death is currently under investigation, with the Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery-Homicide Division taking the lead on this case. As of now, no arrests have been made.
Police were called to an impound lot in Hollywood on September 8 after receiving reports of a foul odor emanating from a vehicle. Upon their arrival, they discovered a decomposing body in the trunk of the Tesla. Investigators noted that the victim, Celeste Rivas, was approximately 5-foot-1, had wavy black hair, and was wearing a tube top, black leggings, a yellow metal bracelet, and metal stud earrings at the time of her death. ABC News reached out to D4vd's representative and lawyer for comments regarding the investigation, but did not receive a response.
