After covering The Bachelor for what feels like a century, I've observed an intriguing phenomenon: the franchise somehow makes time both accelerate and drag simultaneously. For instance, this week, Grant rapidly narrowed down his contenders to four women. While this seems fast, the season remains so uneventful that it feels like it's dragging on forever.
Get ready, rose lovers, because this week, the journey takes us to Scotland! Surprisingly, only two women knew enough about the country to wear plaid. Meanwhile, Alexe was tasked with eating haggis without knowing what it truly is, and unfortunately, the moment was not captured on camera. However, viewers did get to see Jesse Palmer’s hilarious attempt at moonwalking on the golf course.
At the Dalmahoy Hotel, the host reminded the women that it's the week before hometowns, and Grant won't be handing out date roses due to the high stakes. Juliana was ecstatic to finally receive her one-on-one date.
Juliana and Grant soared in a helicopter across the lush Scottish countryside. Landing at a stately castle, they were greeted by a “royal valet” named Calum, who informed them the castle was theirs for the day. Juliana was overjoyed, comparing the experience to living a fairy tale. The couple enjoyed trying on fancy clothes while sipping champagne.
The date included a ballroom scene where they danced to an orchestral version of "I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)" by the Scottish rock band The Proclaimers. The romantic setting was reminiscent of Bridgerton.
Back at the hotel, the ladies learned that the final one-on-one date was going to Litia, leaving Sarafiena, Alexe, Carolina, Dina, and Zoe for the group date. Zoe, the only woman left without a one-on-one with Grant, was visibly upset. The group headed to a Highland Fair where they participated in traditional Scottish games like the caber toss.
Carolina's negative attitude caused further tension, especially when Grant confronted her about her behavior, leaving the other women frustrated. Dina, who previously defended Carolina, expressed her disappointment.
During the cocktail party, Grant discussed the importance of family with each woman. Zoe expressed disappointment over not having a one-on-one date, but Grant reassured her of his interest. Sarafiena conveyed her strong feelings for Grant, revealing he would be the first man she'd bring home in six years.
Meanwhile, Carolina faced backlash from the other women due to her earlier behavior. However, she managed to have a positive conversation with Grant, bringing a happy energy to their interaction.
On her one-on-one date, Litia revealed to Grant her Mormon faith, which was a surprise to him. Despite the unexpected revelation, Grant was open to exploring a future together, even as he pondered the lifestyle adjustments it might entail.
The rose ceremony concluded with the selection of the final four: Litia, Juliana, Dina, and Zoe. Alexe, Sarafiena, and Carolina were sent home, marking the end of their journey on the show. However, there's a possibility they could appear on Bachelor in Paradise this summer.
As we near the end of the season, how do you feel about Grant's final four? Were you surprised by Zoe's advancement without a one-on-one date? And would you dare try a bite of haggis? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
