CBS has officially announced that comedian Nate Bargatze will take the helm as the host of the highly anticipated 77th Emmy Awards. This prestigious ceremony is set to air live coast to coast from the iconic Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on September 14. In a statement, Television Academy chair Cris Abrego expressed enthusiasm about Bargatze's involvement, stating, “Nate is one of the hottest comics in the business with a remarkable and hilarious brand of comedy that deeply resonates with multi-generational audiences around the globe.”
Abrego further emphasized the significance of Bargatze's unique comedic perspective, noting that it will undoubtedly entertain TV fans tuning into this year's Emmy telecast. Reflecting on the opportunity, Bargatze shared his excitement: “It’s a huge honor to be asked to host such an iconic awards show and I’m beyond excited to work with CBS to create a night that can be enjoyed by families around the world.”
The Emmy nominations will be revealed by the Television Academy on Tuesday, July 15, during a live stream at 8:30 a.m. PT available on Emmys.com. Leading up to the main event, the awards will be preceded by the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, scheduled for Saturday, September 6, and Sunday, September 7.
Nate Bargatze is not just a host but a celebrated comedian whose shows have captivated audiences worldwide. In 2024, he sold over 1.2 million tickets for his comedy performances. His prominence in the industry was further solidified when he hosted SNL for the second time last fall. Moreover, last December, he co-produced the holiday variety special, Nate Bargatze’s Nashville Christmas, alongside Lorne Michaels for CBS.

He recently announced his upcoming book titled Big Dumb Eyes: Stories from a Simpler Mind, set to be published by Grand Central Publishing in May.
