In the ongoing federal criminal trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs, defense attorney Teny Geragos presented a detailed invoice from Combs’ travel management company, dated September 2023. This invoice detailed various expenses, including flights for an individual named Jane and an “entertainer” known as Sly, related to a trip to New York City. Geragos emphasized that the invoice specifically mentioned Combs personally, rather than one of his business entities, which could hold significant implications for the case.
The jury was shown records from around October 18, 2023, a date of interest as Jane previously testified about a “sobriety party” held in Beverly Hills, California during that time. Joseph Cerciello, a special agent with Homeland Security Investigations, confirmed that this was the last entry before Cassie Ventura’s civil lawsuit against Combs, filed in November 2023. The jury was also presented with messages exchanged between Jane and Combs leading up to the sobriety party, revealing Jane’s desire to avoid mistreatment and her reluctance to engage in “loveless, cold sex.”
After the sobriety party, which Jane described as lasting between 12 to 18 hours, she testified that although she abstained from drugs, Combs used substances like ecstasy and cocaine. This testimony is supported by records from January 2023, indicating that Combs and Jane hosted three “entertainers” during another hotel night in Los Angeles.
The trial revealed several financial transactions involving Combs and the entertainers. Jane received a message from Combs asking if she wanted to arrange a “debauchery” night, to which she responded positively. Subsequently, Combs sent her $15,000, further indicating the financial dynamics at play. The jury also reviewed flight records for the entertainers, including one arranged through Cowboys for Angels, an escort service.
Jane testified about her experiences with Combs during what she referred to as “hotel nights,” encounters that were often sexual in nature and involved male entertainers. The terminology used by Combs’ associates for these events included “king nights” and “wild king nights.” In contrast, Cassie Ventura, who dated Combs from 2007 to 2018, described similar encounters as “Freak Offs.”
Joseph Cerciello presented evidence from November 2021 through October 2022, including sexually explicit videos of Jane and other men, which were shown to the jury. Although the public and press were barred from viewing these videos, jurors listened through headphones as they watched. The prosecution’s chart indicated that approximately 50 explicit videos were recorded between December 17 and 21, 2021, with Combs appearing in some of the footage.
As the trial progresses, Joseph Cerciello is expected to continue his testimony, focusing on the evidence surrounding Combs’ hotel stays and the implications of his financial transactions. The prosecution, led by Assistant US Attorney Maurene Comey, anticipates resting its case by the end of today, as they aim to solidify their arguments against Combs.
Overall, the trial continues to unfold with significant revelations surrounding the investigations into Sean “Diddy” Combs, leading to heightened public interest and media coverage.
