Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced that the 2.3.0 Public Test Realm (PTR) for Diablo IV will be available from May 27 to June 3. This exciting opportunity allows players to test upcoming changes and features that will be introduced in the next season of the base game, along with some significant updates to the Vessel of Hatred.
The primary goal of the PTR is to gather player feedback on updates and features before the launch of the next season, titled Sins of the Horadrim. This season will focus heavily on new Dungeons and innovative Horadric Spellcraft. Players can look forward to exploring new Horadric Strongrooms, engaging in a new endgame activity known as Escalating Nightmares, and even encountering the return of the formidable Astaroth.
As part of the 2.3.0 PTR, players can expect to preview several exciting features ahead of the next season:
Codex Customize Powerful Horadric Spells Explore Horadric Strongrooms Survive the Escalating Nightmares Run it Back with Astaroth Dungeon Content for all Realms Horadric Jewels New Unique Items Features Offered for Testing How to Provide Feedback How to Install the PTRSeason 9: Sins of the Horadrim will introduce a groundbreaking way to interact with your powers, providing access to powerful Spellcrafting abilities that allow for incredible new combinations. These Horadric Spells are built around three key pillars: Catalysts, Infusions, and Arcana.
The components work as follows:
Catalysts: The base power of your spell. Infusions: Modify the type of elemental damage your spell inflicts. Arcana: Adjust the baseline power of the spell. With countless combinations available, players can equip a main Catalyst, an Infusion for support, and up to three Arcana to enhance their spells. This allows for unprecedented experimentation with Horadric magic.
Venture into Horadric Strongrooms, which are micro-dungeons filled with powerful rewards and fierce enemies. Players can use their Wayfinder to locate these repositories of Horadric knowledge and battle their way through demonic foes. Once unsealed, players must complete these Strongrooms within a limited timeframe to secure valuable loot.
To find a Horadric Strongroom, players can:
Increase their difficulty level or Torment Tier. Upgrade their Wayfinder using seasonal currency, Horadric Phials. Use a Nightmare Dungeon Sigil with an affix that guarantees a Horadric Strongroom appearance. The Escalating Nightmares represent a new endgame challenge, consisting of a series of three Nightmare Dungeons. As players progress through each Dungeon, the difficulty increases, and so do the rewards. Successfully conquering all three dungeons will lead to an encounter with an exalted version of Astaroth.
At the end of the Nightmare Escalation, players will face Astaroth, who has a new, more challenging twist. During the battle, Astaroth will split into two formidable bosses, requiring players to adapt their strategies to defeat them.
The dungeons of Sanctuary are receiving significant updates, including the ability to activate Nightmare Sigils directly within Nightmare Dungeons, eliminating the need to exit to enter a new one. Additionally, new affixes will be added to enhance the rewards and experiences within these Dungeons.
Players will also have the chance to obtain Horadric Jewels, which can be crafted using Horadric Phials and Gem Fragments. These powerful gems will provide various effects, enhancing players' abilities. Furthermore, new unique items will be introduced, amplifying players' demon-slaying capabilities.
