During a live stream on The Live Club skating podcast, co-host Roger Bagley shared insights into how Margera was added to the game. According to Bagley, the game was already completed when Tony Hawk intervened. He reached out to Activision, insisting that Margera be included. “Tony called up Activision and was like ‘hey, we’re putting Bam in the thing’, and they were like ‘hey, we can’t’,” explained Bagley. Hawk's determination led to a last-minute change, requiring Margera to fly out for body scanning and other necessary preparations to finalize his inclusion.
Co-host Chris Roberts inquired whether this news was widely known, to which Bagley replied, “Probably.” This suggests that the revelation about Margera's return might not yet be public knowledge, adding an element of surprise for fans eagerly awaiting the game's release.
In recent years, Bam Margera has faced numerous challenges, including health and legal issues. His struggles with substance abuse led to his dismissal from Jackass Forever, and he was subsequently issued a restraining order by director Jeff Tremaine. Tremaine had previously advocated for Margera's participation in the franchise, making the absence of Margera from the initial Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 announcement all the more concerning for fans.
However, hope was reignited shortly after the game's announcement when an image surfaced online showing Margera reuniting with Hawk at his skate park. This moment gave fans a glimmer of hope that Margera would indeed be part of the game.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is set to be released on July 11, 2025. For those looking for an enhanced experience, the more premium Digital Deluxe and Collector’s Editions will provide an early access option, allowing players to dive into the game three days earlier on July 8.
