ABC has officially announced the midseason premiere dates for its lineup of both new and returning series, generating excitement among viewers. Highlights include the highly anticipated return of American Idol and High Potential, along with fresh seasons of Will Trent and The Rookie. Additionally, fans can look forward to the series premiere of the much-awaited Scrubs reboot.
The Scrubs reboot, featuring beloved stars Zach Braff, Donald Faison, and Sarah Chalke, is set to debut on Wednesday, February 25, at 8 PM. The launch will include two back-to-back episodes, taking over the time slot previously occupied by Shifting Gears. This comedy will return for the continuation of its second season on January 7.
In an exciting development, ABC has extended the episode count for Shifting Gears Season 2 from 10 to 13 episodes, adding three new episodes to the lineup. This adjustment suggests that the series will share its timeslot with the new Scrubs reboot.
American Idol is back for its ninth season on Monday, January 26, at 8 PM, marking its 24th season overall. This season introduces an innovative twist during Hollywood Week, which will be relocated to Nashville for a special event titled Hollywood Week: Music City Takeover. Judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie, along with host Ryan Seacrest, will guide contestants through this exciting phase of the competition.

Fans of sports can look forward to NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC, which returns for select Saturdays starting January 24, featuring a matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks.
