In this initial presentation, the Galaxy Z TriFold impressively maintains a slimmer profile compared to most of Samsung’s previous foldable devices.
According to a report by The Korea Economic Daily, the Galaxy Z TriFold measures approximately 4.2mm in thickness when unfolded, a dimension that is comparable to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Although the device was viewed behind glass and from a distance, this initial assessment indicates a significant achievement in design. More crucially, the thickness of the device when folded has also garnered attention. The same report suggests that the TriFold folds down to around 1.2-1.5cm, or about 12-15mm.
When considering the Galaxy Z TriFold within the context of Samsung's foldable lineup, it becomes apparent that it is remarkably thinner than many of its book-style counterparts. The Galaxy Z Fold 7, for example, has a thickness of 8.9mm, while earlier models have varied in thickness:
