However, users can only access the 16GB of RAM by opting for the 1TB storage variant. Samsung's summer releases typically come with few surprises, and the Fold 7 is no exception. The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy performs exceptionally well, making it suitable for gaming and multitasking.
Despite the Galaxy Z Fold 7 featuring a 4,400mAh battery, my concerns extend beyond its initial performance. While the device meets expectations for daily use, I worry about long-term performance degradation. In battery tests, I noted a significant 51% drop when switching to the main screen, which raises questions about its efficiency. This is an area that requires closer observation over time.
The camera system on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the best I have experienced on a foldable phone to date. It eliminates the need to carry an additional device solely for photography. One UI 8 introduces a few exclusive features for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, although some users may find the updates underwhelming. Notably, the Classic DeX mode has been removed, replaced by a more simplified interface that aligns with Google’s direction. While the software boasts several AI-driven changes, many features feel redundant for those who have already experienced the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
In North America, the only notable competitor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is Google’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
