During a recent earnings call, Samsung's VP of Mobile Experience, Daniel Araujo, revealed exciting details about the upcoming Galaxy S26 series. He emphasized that this new lineup will introduce next-gen AI technology, a new custom chip, and enhanced camera capabilities, setting the stage for a transformative user experience.
Araujo stated that the Galaxy S26 will "revolutionize the user experience" with user-centric design and advanced AI functionalities. He hinted at the introduction of a second-generation custom application processor (AP), which is expected to significantly boost performance. The Galaxy S26 series will likely be powered by the Exynos 2600 in select regions, marking it as the first 2nm chip produced by Samsung's foundry.
Additionally, Samsung is expected to continue its dual-chip strategy, incorporating Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 into the Galaxy S26 series. This means that while the standard model may feature the Exynos chip, other variants will utilize Qualcomm’s powerful chipset. However, Araujo noted that the evaluation of the AP for the Galaxy S26 is still ongoing, and further confirmation will come with Samsung's official announcements.
Looking beyond the Galaxy S26, Araujo shared Samsung's commitment to continuing innovation in its foldable smartphone lineup. The company aims to "strengthen our product portfolio and provide new experiences" to expand its customer base. In addition, Samsung plans to enhance the health-focused AI features in its Galaxy Watches, as well as grow its True Wireless Stereo (TWS) lineup with new offerings.
Samsung has reported steady demand for its flagship phones, tablets, and wearables, despite slight declines in sales within North America and South Korea. This indicates a resilient performance compared to the previous year and a strong foundation for future growth.
As Samsung prepares for 2026, the company is doubling down on AI-powered smartphones, including the anticipated Galaxy S26 series and new foldable devices. To maintain momentum, Samsung will implement seasonal promotions and emphasize its ecosystem of devices, such as watches and earbuds. The company is also positioning itself as a leader in AI technology and innovative form factors.
However, Samsung has also noted that price increases in key components, particularly memory, may lead to higher smartphone prices in the future. As consumers eagerly await the Galaxy S26 series and other exciting announcements, Samsung's commitment to innovation in mobile technology remains clear.
