On a bustling day for Windows 11 Insiders, Microsoft has unveiled a trio of new preview builds across its Dev, Beta, and Canary Channels. The latest builds include Windows 11 build 26200.5742 for the Dev Channel and build 26120.5742 for the Beta Channel, both of which are now available for download. These updates bring a range of enhancements, including a modernized Settings app that integrates more Control Panel features, along with traditional bug fixes and a redesigned mobile device companion in the Start menu for users in the Dev Channel.
Both the Dev and Beta builds introduce exciting new options for language and date/time settings within the Settings app, which previously required navigating the old Control Panel. Key features include:
You can now add additional clocks from Settings > Time & language > Date & time under the expanded section titled “Show time and date in the system tray.” These additional clocks will be visible in the Notification Center and as tooltips when hovering over the taskbar clock. The option to change your time server is now available under Settings > Time & language > Date & time, within “Additional settings.” Formatting settings for date and time have been relocated to Settings > Time & language > Date & time, allowing users to adjust their AM/PM symbols along with existing formatting options. Changes to number and currency formats can be made from Settings > Time & language > Language & region in the “Region” section. A new toggle for enabling Unicode UTF-8 for global language support can be found under Settings > Time & language > Language & region. Users can now copy their current user language and region settings to the welcome screen and system account, as well as to new user accounts, from Settings > Time & language > Language & region. The settings for character repeat delay/rate and cursor blink rate have been moved to Settings > Accessibility.Additionally, Microsoft has revamped the dialog that appears when the system fails to open a program. Insiders testing the Dev builds will notice a redesigned mobile device companion within the Start menu, which enables users to scroll through recent activities such as messages, calls, photos, and updates.
Alongside these new features, here is a comprehensive list of bug fixes that are gradually rolling out to Windows Insiders:
