iOS 26 has been undergoing beta testing with developers for over a month, yet Apple has not yet released a public beta version. Currently, Apple has confirmed a launch date in July, but according to tech expert Mark Gurman, there is a specific day being targeted for the iOS 26 public beta release.
Reports suggest that Apple is aiming for July 23 as the launch date for the iOS 26 public beta. Historically, Apple typically releases its summer public betas about a week after the third beta version is made available. The third beta for iOS 26 was released on July 7, and now, over a week later, the public beta has yet to be announced.
In response to a question on social media platform X regarding the absence of the public beta, Gurman noted that July 23 would be later than usual for Apple’s public beta launches. This timing also suggests that we can expect to see a fourth developer beta of iOS 26 before the public beta is released.
If Apple adheres to its typical 7-day gap between beta releases, we could see the iOS 26 beta 4 arrive as soon as tomorrow. However, it's important to note that historical patterns have already been altered this time around, leaving the timing of new beta releases uncertain. There’s even a possibility that a 'revised' version of beta 3 might be issued instead of the anticipated beta 4.
As we move deeper into July, the release window for the iOS 26 public beta is closing rapidly. With excitement building around the new features and improvements expected in this latest update, many users are eager to see how the beta version performs.
