As the highly anticipated Amazon Prime Big Deal Days event runs from October 7 to 8, Best Buy has introduced its own competing Techtober Sale, which will be available through October 12. This strategic timing reflects Best Buy's ongoing efforts to provide customers with enticing deals during the fall shopping season, especially in the tech category.
A representative from Best Buy confirmed via email that the Techtober Sale features some of the most sought-after discounts this fall on technology products, including laptops, TVs, headphones, video games, electric bikes, and much more. Excitingly, new markdowns are added daily, ensuring that shoppers have fresh options to consider. All deals can be accessed online, through the Best Buy mobile app, and at physical store locations, making it convenient for all customers.
Since 2022, Best Buy has consistently timed its sales to coincide with Amazon's major promotional events. The Amazon Prime Big Deal Days is just one of the occasions where Best Buy has chosen to launch its own sales initiatives, previously known as the 48-Hour Flash Sale. In addition to the fall sale, Best Buy also runs a savings event alongside Amazon's flagship Prime Day sale in July, showcasing its commitment to counter-programming in the competitive retail landscape.
However, Best Buy is not the only retailer looking to compete with Amazon this month. Walmart has initiated a Walmart Deals event running from October 7 to 12, while Target is hosting its Circle Week sales from October 5 to 11. Notably, Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days is unique in that it requires a paid membership for access to its deals, which may drive customers to explore alternatives like Best Buy.
I have spent considerable time examining the Techtober Sale and have discovered over sixty products that are either more affordable at Best Buy or exclusively available through them. Some items are not even carried by Amazon, such as my favorite Asus Zenbook A14, now priced at just $580. Others, like the iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max + AutoWash Dock, are currently sold out on Amazon but available at Best Buy for $600.
Below, I've compiled a list of some of the most notable deals available during the Techtober Sale. Be sure to check back frequently as I will update this list with new deals throughout the week.
These deals highlight the competitive nature of the current retail market and provide an excellent opportunity for consumers to save on the latest technology. Make sure to take advantage of the Techtober Sale at Best Buy before it concludes on October 12.
