In response to the developments, Apple has updated its official website to include a disclaimer wherever these unreleased Siri features are referenced on the marketing pages for the iPhone. The innovative Siri functionalities were designed to enhance user experience by allowing individuals to easily retrieve information from conversations with friends and family. This includes details such as flight numbers or book recommendations, seamlessly scanning through Messages, Mail, and other applications.
One of the standout features was intended to provide on-screen awareness, enabling users to take immediate actions within the app they are currently using. For instance, a user could simply instruct Siri to “edit this image to make it pop” while viewing a photo in the Photos app. However, following persistent rumors of development issues, Apple officially confirmed the delay in a press statement released on Friday.

While Apple has not provided a specific timeline, it is speculated that the “future software update” may be part of a version of iOS 19. The first developer beta of iOS 19 is expected to be unveiled this summer during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. However, the rollout of the anticipated features could extend anywhere from fall 2025 to summer 2026, so users should not hold their breath in anticipation.
