Following the event, Apple announced that the final versions of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 would be available for download starting Monday, September 15. This release will coincide with updates to all of Apple's other operating systems, bringing substantial changes to the software on your iPhone and iPad.
One of the most notable updates is the introduction of Liquid Glass, which offers a fresh aesthetic reminiscent of the old Windows Vista design language. Unlike last year, when Apple maintained a broad eligibility list, this year marks a shift, as several models will not support the new operating system. Specifically, the iPhone 8 models and the iPhone X were among the last devices to receive updates in 2023, but in 2025, devices released in 2018 will be left behind.
If your device is on the ineligible list, you won't be able to download iOS 26 when it launches next week. However, Apple is also expected to release iOS 18.7 alongside iOS 26 to address various security issues, according to MacRumors.

Apple has confirmed that iOS 26 will be released to eligible devices on Monday, September 15. For those interested in testing the software before the official launch, the public beta is still available for download, now in its release candidate version.
