Apple is gearing up for the anticipated March release of its new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models, which will feature the latest M4 chips. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple has already begun preparing its marketing, sales, and retail teams for this significant launch.
Gurman's latest Power On newsletter highlights that current MacBook Air models are experiencing inventory reductions at various stores, indicating that the launch of the new models is imminent. Initially, this launch was expected to be Apple's first hardware unveiling of the year. However, the spotlight was first taken by the iPhone 16e, which made its debut last week.
Last week, Gurman confidently stated that Apple will start selling the new MacBook Air models with M4 chips by March at the latest. While he is certain of a March release, it remains unclear whether the launch will occur in the first half or later in the month. Twelve days ago, Gurman mentioned that the machines would be introduced within weeks, and he remains optimistic about a March debut despite not having exact release dates.
Apple inadvertently confirmed the upcoming M4 MacBook Air models back in December. The macOS Sequoia 15.2 software update included files referencing unreleased Mac16,12 and Mac16,13 machines. These files specifically pointed to the MacBook Air (13-inch, M4, 2025) and the MacBook Air (15-inch, M4, 2025).
Stay tuned for more updates as Apple prepares to introduce these highly anticipated laptops to the market, promising enhanced performance with the new M4 chips.
