On Wednesday, Apple announced the launch of AppleCare One, an innovative subscription plan priced at $19.99 per month. This new plan allows customers to cover up to three Apple products under a single subscription, simplifying the process of managing device protection. Users can also expand their coverage by adding additional devices for just $5.99 each month.
Previously, customers had to enroll their Apple devices in separate AppleCare+ plans to gain extra protection beyond the standard warranty. With the introduction of AppleCare One, Apple is now offering bundled coverage that consolidates this protection into a single, convenient plan.
AppleCare One encompasses all the essential benefits of AppleCare+, such as unlimited repairs for accidents like drops or spills, 24/7 support from Apple experts, and comprehensive battery coverage. Notably, the new plan also extends theft and loss protection to iPads and Apple Watches, in addition to iPhones.
For the first time, Apple allows customers to add AppleCare coverage to existing Apple products. Users can now protect devices that are up to four years old, provided they are in good condition. To confirm a device’s condition, customers may need to complete a diagnostic check using their iPhone or iPad, or visit an Apple Store.
According to Apple, the pricing for AppleCare One remains consistent, regardless of the products being covered. This means that customers can enroll their iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch together and potentially save up to $11 a month compared to enrolling each device in separate AppleCare+ plans. For instance, if a customer purchases AppleCare One with a new MacBook Pro and adds their iPhone, they will benefit from significant savings and enhanced value, especially if they include additional devices like an Apple Watch.
Only devices linked to the customer’s Apple Account are eligible for coverage under AppleCare One, according to Apple’s guidelines. Customers who prefer protection for a single device can continue to sign up for the traditional AppleCare+ plan.
Additionally, the new Theft and Loss coverage for Apple Watch and iPad will not only be included in AppleCare One but will also be available as part of AppleCare+ for customers seeking coverage for individual devices.
AppleCare One is set to be available starting Thursday in the United States. Consumers can easily sign up for AppleCare One directly through their iPhone, iPad, or Mac, or by visiting an Apple Store. This new subscription plan aims to enhance customer experience by providing comprehensive device protection in a straightforward, cost-effective manner.
