This isn't the first time George Webb has had to honor its promise. The restaurant chain distributed free burgers twice before: first in 1987 when the Brewers set a franchise record with 13 consecutive wins at the start of the season, giving away an astonishing 168,000 burgers. The second instance occurred in 2018 when the team matched the 12-game winning streak, resulting in 90,000 free burgers and an additional 100,000 redeemable vouchers.
As the Brewers continue their impressive run, their record now stands at an MLB-best 76-44. During this 12-game winning streak, the team has scored a staggering 103 runs, making them only the second franchise in the last 80 seasons to achieve over 100 runs during such a streak.
