This initiative is named in memory of Katie Abraham, who tragically lost her life due to a drunk driving incident involving a known criminal illegal alien, Julio Cucul-Bol. This operation aims to tackle the alarming issue of criminal illegal aliens who have settled in Chicago, encouraged by the leniency of Governor Pritzker’s sanctuary policies.
Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin emphasized the risks associated with these sanctuary policies, stating, “For years, Governor Pritzker and his fellow sanctuary politicians have released dangerous individuals, including members of the Tren de Aragua gang, rapists, kidnappers, and drug traffickers, onto the streets of Chicago.” These policies have resulted in Chicago becoming a magnet for criminals, as law enforcement struggles to manage the influx of individuals who are protected from deportation.
Operation Midway Blitz specifically aims to identify and apprehend some of the most notorious criminal illegal aliens currently at large in Illinois. These individuals pose a significant threat to public safety and have been released due to the lack of cooperation from local law enforcement with ICE detainers. Gabriel J Valle Galvez, 47, from Mexico – A known Latin King gang member with multiple convictions, including battery, DUI, and public indecency. Despite ICE requesting his detention twelve times, he was repeatedly released by Cook County Jail. Javier Carmelo Casillas Gomez, 46, from Mexico – With a criminal record that includes drug possession and domestic violence, he currently has an active warrant for drug manufacturing. Victor Manuel Gomez-Atilano, 45, from Mexico – A repeat offender with prior deportations and convictions for illegal weapon use, he was released despite an active ICE detainer. Ricardo Salas Muro, 41, from Mexico – Known for burglary and drug possession, he has been released multiple times despite ICE detainers. Dany Daniel Hernandez Colina, 27, from Venezuela – A Tren de Aragua gang member with a history of burglary and shoplifting, he was released after an order of removal was issued. Carlos Johendy Gonzales Montero, 36, from Venezuela – Another Tren de Aragua gang member with serious charges including aggravated assault, released after ICE detainers were ignored. Oscar Remiez Vences, 30, from Mexico – A member of the Two Six gang, he has convictions for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and domestic battery. Frankismar Oliveira-Infante, 39, from Venezuela – Convicted of aggravated assault and considered armed and dangerous. Rutilo Uriostegui Mojica, 28, from Mexico – With a criminal history that includes drug possession and multiple DUIs, he was released despite an ICE detainer. Pedro Enrique Colmenares Gonzalez, 34, from Venezuela – A Tren de Aragua gang member with a history of serious crimes, including sexual assault and kidnapping, who was released multiple times.As Operation Midway Blitz unfolds, officials, including President Trump and Secretary Noem, have made it clear that no city should serve as a safe haven for criminal illegal aliens.
