Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Denise Richards’ ex-husband, Aaron Phypers, was arrested on Friday, October 17, inside a Los Angeles courtroom. The arrest occurred during ongoing legal proceedings related to spousal abuse charges. This situation comes amid a tumultuous week in court, where Richards has been seeking a restraining order against Phypers.
According to reports, Phypers was handcuffed in the courtroom following the filing of a criminal complaint at the Van Nuys courthouse on Wednesday. He is facing serious allegations, including two counts of injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend, or child's parent, as well as two counts of dissuading a witness by force or threat. Notably, three of the alleged incidents occurred on January 17, 2022, while another incident was reported on May 3, 2022.
The legal drama intensified when Aaron Phypers filed for divorce in July, amidst allegations of both physical and emotional abuse during his marriage to Denise Richards. Following these allegations, Richards was granted a temporary restraining order, particularly after an alleged violent incident that coincided with Phypers’ divorce filing.

She stated that her former husband “caused me at least three concussions” during their time together, as reported by People Magazine. Furthermore, Richards accused Phypers of attempting to tarnish her reputation after their breakup by allegedly stealing her laptop and leaking sensitive information, including nude photos, according to Fox News Digital.
In response to the allegations, Aaron Phypers issued a statement to People Magazine, strongly denying the accusations. He claimed, “I absolutely deny the false allegations that I violated the restraining order or stole Denise's laptop or cellphones. These claims are not only untrue; they are being weaponized to damage my reputation and distract from the truth.”
