On Saturday, July 26, 2025, a devastating incident occurred at Devil's Den State Park in West Fork, Arkansas, resulting in the tragic deaths of a couple who were hiking with their two young daughters. The victims, identified as Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, had recently relocated to Prairie Grove from another state. Fortunately, their daughters, aged 7 and 9, were unharmed and are now safe with family members.
At approximately 2:40 p.m. on the day of the incident, the Arkansas State Police (ASP) received reports of a double homicide occurring on a walking trail within the park, located in Washington County. The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of ASP is currently investigating the suspected homicide, with law enforcement urging park visitors from that day to assist in the investigation.
Investigators are appealing to anyone who visited Devil's Den State Park on July 26 to review any cellphone photos, videos, or GoPro footage that may contain images of the suspect. Additionally, residents living near the park are encouraged to check their security and game camera footage for any relevant information. The area where the tragic event took place has been secured and remains cordoned off by law enforcement.
On Sunday, July 27, ASP released an updated description of the suspect, who is now believed to be a white male with a medium build. Contrary to earlier reports of him wearing a tank top, he was observed wearing a long-sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled up. The suspect was last seen donning dark pants, a dark ballcap, and sunglasses, and carrying a black backpack while wearing fingerless gloves. Witnesses reported seeing him drive away from the park in a black, four-door sedan, possibly a Mazda, with a license plate obscured by electrical or duct tape. The vehicle may have been traveling along State Highway 170 or State Highway 220 near the park.
Anyone with any information regarding the suspect's identity or whereabouts is urged to contact ASP Troop L at (479) 751-6663. Investigators have emphasized the importance of not posting any photos or videos on social media, as this could potentially jeopardize the ongoing investigation.
Shea Lewis, Secretary of the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism, expressed profound sorrow over the tragic events, stating, “We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred at Devil's Den State Park. Our hearts are with the victims’ loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. The safety of our visitors and staff is our highest priority.” Lewis assured the public that they are collaborating closely with the Arkansas State Police and other law enforcement agencies to ensure safety in the parks and support the investigation.
