He remarked, “My hair looks strange,” after observing unusual alterations in a recent video. Upon closer inspection, Beato realized that his skin and facial features appeared digitally retouched, despite not using any filters. Similarly, fellow creator Rhett Shull reported distorted visuals in his own YouTube Shorts, noting oversharpened features and an artificial aesthetic. Shull expressed frustration, stating, “If I wanted this terrible over-sharpening, I would have done it myself.” His subsequent video addressing the issue garnered over 500,000 views, highlighting the potential risk of undermining trust between creators and their audiences.
The discontent among creators has echoed across platforms like Reddit, where users have documented unusual edits as far back as June. Common complaints include unnaturally smooth skin textures, exaggerated fabric folds, and distorted details such as warped ears.
