Warriors coach Steve Kerr is known for his calm demeanor, but when he does express frustration, it is palpable throughout the arena. Such was the case during the third quarter of the Golden State Warriors game against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday at American Airlines Center. Kerr's ire was directed at the officials after a play involving Kyrie Irving and Jimmy Butler did not result in a foul call.
The incident occurred when Kerr believed that Kyrie Irving had held onto Jimmy Butler, warranting a foul that wasn't called. In response to the perceived oversight, Kerr animatedly expressed his displeasure near midcourt, which ultimately led to him receiving a technical foul.

Instead of getting the foul call he was advocating for, Kerr was penalized with a technical foul, a decision that came with the Warriors trailing 62-56. There were just over 11 minutes left in the quarter at that point. In a moment of intensity, Draymond Green, who is no stranger to technical fouls himself, had to restrain Kerr.
This technical foul marked Kerr's fourth of the 2024-25 NBA season. It is possible that the outburst was also a strategic move to energize his team, as the Golden State Warriors were looking to secure their third consecutive win for the first time since November.
