In the 2025 NFL Draft, no positions boast more depth in available talent than those on the defensive line. Both the defensive tackle and defensive end classes are impressive at the top and maintain depth through the top 100 picks. With the NFL Scouting Combine taking place this week, here are eight defensive linemen—four defensive ends and four defensive tackles—for Kansas City Chiefs fans to watch during Thursday’s workouts.
If there were only one workout to watch, it would be Stewart's. Reminiscent of Travon Walker's explosive 2022 Combine, Stewart might prove to be an even more athletic version. Standing at 6 feet 6 inches and weighing 291 pounds, Stewart is a massive presence with impressive arm length. His combination of size, speed, and agility is rare, as he moves like he weighs just 260 pounds. Expect Stewart to approach records for the broad and vertical jumps, especially considering his size. There are questions about his NFL projection, but a standout Combine performance could spark top-5 buzz.
Burch has been somewhat underrated due to the depth of this class, yet his skill set makes him noteworthy. At 6 feet 6 inches and 290 pounds, he moves well for his size. While not the slipperiest, he is long and explosive, capable of winning from multiple spots along the line. His Combine performance may surprise many.
Jackson is intriguing, though my assessment is lower than most analysts. Some project him as a late first-round pick, but I'm skeptical. His long arms, strong motor, and power are assets, but stiffness is a concern at the next level. As he’s not yet a highly productive pass rusher, Jackson needs a strong Combine showing to bolster his draft stock.
DE Princely Umanmielen, Ole Miss
The modern NFL defensive end must be swift to counter scrambling quarterbacks. Umanmielen could become a player like Philadelphia Eagles’ Nolan Smith, whose 4.3 speed aids in negating fast quarterbacks. Though smaller, Umanmielen is agile and quick, often covering ground in coverage. His speed and jump tests at the Combine will be critical.
After transferring from Michigan State, Harmon excelled at Oregon in 2024. As a three-technique player, his quickness allows him to penetrate gaps and make impactful plays in the backfield. His fast play style at Oregon suggests he will have a strong Combine performance.
Standing 6 feet 7 inches and nearly 350 pounds, Walker is an imposing figure. His workout could significantly influence draft boards. Walker's unique agility and size allow him to disrupt offenses, though inconsistencies in pad level and motor raise questions. His Combine performance and interviews will be crucial in determining his draft position.
Though I haven’t watched much film on Alexander, he presents as a three-technique pass rusher. With recent first-round buzz, Alexander needs to showcase great athleticism at the Combine to solidify his draft status.
Grant is a standout nose tackle in 2025, showcasing both run-stopping prowess and pass-rushing ability. His agility and quick first step make him a formidable opponent on the defensive line. Grant's Combine performance is anticipated to be impressive, highlighting his elite athletic talent.
