PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Keegan Bradley made headlines during the final round of THE PLAYERS Championship by acing the challenging par-3 13th hole. This remarkable achievement is not only significant because of its timing but also because it marks Bradley's second hole-in-one of the season.
Earlier this season, Bradley showcased his exceptional skill by acing the third hole at The Genesis Invitational, held at the iconic Torrey Pines in February. This par-3 hole, known for its breathtaking views as it slopes down toward the ocean, added to Bradley's impressive golf resume. With these two remarkable aces, Bradley has proven himself to be a master of the par-3 holes.
On Sunday, during the final round of the tournament at TPC Sawgrass, Bradley faced the 13th hole, which featured a front-left tee box designed to account for strong winds. Measuring just 153 yards, this hole was 30 yards shorter than in the previous two rounds. With precision, Bradley struck a 7-iron that landed just a few paces left of the hole and spun in for an unforgettable ace.
While the 13th hole does not carry the same iconic status as the famous island green 17th, it is still regarded as a challenging hole for golfers. Bradley's hole-in-one is particularly noteworthy as it marks the first ace at TPC Sawgrass’ 13th hole since Sungjae Im achieved the same feat in 2019. This recent accomplishment adds to the rich history of the course, making it the 13th-ever ace recorded at the 13th hole.
With this latest achievement, Bradley can now set his sights on one of the more whimsical records on the PGA TOUR. Last year, Joe Highsmith made waves by setting the record for the most aces on TOUR since 1983, tallying three holes-in-one throughout the year. With two holes-in-one already this season, Bradley is on track to add to this exciting statistic.
