It seems that the Instagram embeds issue has finally been resolved (fingers crossed)! If you missed yesterday's Screecaps, you might not be aware that Joe encountered problems with these embeds. I can confirm that up until last night, when I began compiling today's Screecaps, the Instagram embeds were not functional. However, this morning, I checked again to finalize the content, and it looks like they are back in action! Hopefully, they remain operational by the time you read this.
It’s always frustrating when changes on Instagram's end cause embeds to malfunction. That said, it seems the issue has been resolved, although I would like to provide a fair warning that there aren’t as many Instagram embeds as usual. I had to work with what was available, which meant utilizing Twitter embeds instead. Regardless, we don’t let embed issues slow us down!
UFC 318 took place in New Orleans on Saturday night and kicked off with an explosive start. The event, headlined by local hero Dustin Poirier's final fight, featured six consecutive finishes, with five of them occurring in the first round. Who doesn’t love a thrilling finish in the octagon? However, with such an action-packed start, it almost guaranteed a finish-less main event, which is exactly what transpired.
The evening concluded with Poirier facing Max Holloway for the third time, competing for the coveted BMF belt. The fight went the full five rounds, and sadly, Poirier announced his retirement on the losing end of a unanimous decision. No fighter wishes to end their career with a loss, especially when it marks his first defeat against Holloway. At least he avoided a knockout and the dramatic gesture of leaving his gloves in the octagon, right?
Dustin Poirier didn’t get to ride off into the sunset with the BMF belt; instead, he walked away with three losses in his last four fights while still maintaining a commendable career. It’s a far better exit than those who suffer multiple knockouts on their way out. Plus, he had the legendary Lil Wayne in attendance to support him, which is a notable highlight!
In a message from George, a reminder about propane safety was highlighted. He cautioned against storing propane in enclosed spaces due to the risks of overheating and potential leaks, which could be hazardous as propane is heavier than air and can pool inside an enclosure. Thanks for emphasizing this crucial safety tip, George!
Michael J contributed to the community by sharing stunning photos of the sunset skyline from St. Paul, MN. Who doesn’t enjoy a beautiful sunset? These calming visuals remind us of the beauty in nature, even if it’s just through photographs. Keep sharing your sunset shots, Michael!
Rick shared his thoughts on the peculiar event of naked bowling in Pittsburgh. While he isn’t a betting man by nature, he humorously speculated that he wouldn’t want to see anyone naked at such an event. I can’t say I’d disagree with him! Wild activities often attract wild people, and that’s what makes life interesting.
Amber J raised an intriguing question about the social norm of wearing bras at home. She pointed out that many conditions affecting shoulder joints can make wearing a bra uncomfortable or even painful, particularly for larger-chested women. This topic evidently struck a chord with readers!
Denise offered her critique on Shane Gillis’ performance at the ESPY Awards, expressing that he was neither funny nor a suitable choice for a host. However, I have to say, I found him to be quite entertaining!
Montana Tim shared an incredible account of his 4th of July celebrations, which spanned over a week! He highlighted the delicious food, including a variety of meats and mouthwatering desserts. Tim's enthusiasm for life shines through as he recounted hosting friends and enjoying the beauty of nature. His photos of huckleberry pies and grilled meats truly bring the festive spirit to life!
